About

The Rea Community project is dedicated to addressing the critical need for affordable housing within our community. By raising $3.23 million in collaboration with the United Way of Lincoln County and Hesed House Of Hope, this initiative aims to create a vibrant and sustainable housing development in Lincoln County.

The project will provide safe, affordable, and high-quality homes for individuals and families who are currently struggling with housing insecurity. Through thoughtful planning and community engagement, The Rea Community seeks to improve the living conditions of our essential workers, veterans, and other residents who contribute so much to our community, ensuring they have access to a stable and supportive environment.

Our plan is to provide comprehensive wrap-around services to support employment advancement and financial stability, ensuring residents can maintain their progress even after their lease ends.

The name “Rea” is an ancient Hebrew word that means “friendship,” reflecting our vision of turning neighbors into friends and building a strong, supportive community.

Financial Donations

United Way and Hesed House of Hope will launch a combined capital campaign alongside community partners to solicit private donors, business owners and the faith community. The fundraising team will be responsible for developing a comprehensive giving campaign that engages our community in a meaningful way.

In-kind Support

By leveraging the unique strengths and talents of our partners, we will employ a collective impact model to ensure the successful delivery of the project. The building team will bid out project task in hopes to receive in-kind support to keep project cost affordable.

Construction Method

The project will be a mixture of 13 stick-built units designed alongside local general contractors to meet the needs of the community. A portion of these units will be ADA compliant. We plan to engage local vendors/businesses and volunteers to execute the site development and build.
